Everyone knows the keys to successful marriages. We all do. But still there’s lots of failure.
My initial thoughts:
- Marriage is hard work. It doesn’t just ‘happen.’
- Marriage isn’t for everyone.
- There’s no such thing as ‘the one.’ Falling in love is easy. Getting married is making is not just about falling in love; it’s about making a choice.
- The grass is always greener, and will it always WILL be if you think there’s “the one.” Again, it’s easy to fall in love, and if you’re having issues with your spouse, you’ll question yourself into thinking a new person might REALLY be “the one.” Don’t question it. You’re married, you’ve made your choice. Work on your issues.
And so I’m married, I made my decision. It’s my project. I can’t control what anyone else does, only me. In this blog, you’ll see what I’m ‘doing.’
The grass is always greener but it still needs to be mowed!
This looks like a great blog! I love anything that has a mission and mind for marriage. Keep up the great writing!
Good point.
Thanks for visiting! I appreciate the comment. Keep coming back!
Great idea for a blog. I’m a great fan of marriage – been in mine for 26 years – and I agree, it takes work. But you know what? It’s SO worth it!

Thanks so much for the kind words! 26 years; congratulations! What do you think has attributed to your success? I’m using this blog to focus on the little things; the big picture stuff is out there all over the web. We all know what we’re SUPPOSED to do from a big picture standpoint (respect our spouse, communicate effectively, etc) but I thought this would be a good place to share the every day.
Thank you! I guess being committed to each other and to marriage helps, and we are very very good friends. We also laugh together – a LOT!
I look forward to following your blog!
